Hello people! If somebody still uses this forum, how are you after a long time?

It passed a long time since the last time I have posted here...

Today I am gonna tell you people about this biggest project since Empire Earth came out. Me and my team from Empire Earth: Reborn project have worked for two years since Coderbot16 presented his CEMCONV program which converts models in OBJ format to CEM format which Empire Earth uses. We have discovered secrets of the CEM model format which intrigued a lot of people during the years. Also, with the assistance of a tool for modding database, DB Editor from Forlins, we have achieved a lot of things that many EE fans could only dream of, for example, new units, customized units, better AI, gameplay changes, visual changes and many more. Last year we finally managed to achieve the biggest dream of the EE community, new fully working models. When we started that, we could have only new jet aircraft and static models. Earlier this year we finally managed to have animated models which is one of our biggest achievements. The only things that we cannot make for now are units which use FRAME ANIMATIONS (they were used in the late 90s games and early 2000s) and those units are all infantry units, some land units and buildings, animals, and few others. But we are working hard to finish that. Besides models which is our number 1 priority, we are also working on gameplay changes and new textures. Our team consists of EE veterans from here and other places. We use Discord as our headquarters since it seems that sadly nobody uses old forums like this one and similar. In the last few months, Atlasfield posted some new models here together wih his textures so I hope some of you guys downloaded it and tried it. At the end of this post I will post some WORK IN PROGRESS or DONE photos (and links if posting photos will not work directly) which you can see.

We have designed new tools for modding Empire Earth which makes most of the old tools obsolete and not useful more.
Those tools can be downloaded from our GitHub page, also there are tutorials for every one of them except CEMtool which is still experimental and limited to developers. The link will be at the bottom of the page.

I will describe our new tools in short:

CEMtool - Blender addon for modifying and importing/exporting CEM files

DB Editor - very very useful too for modifying the database, miracles can be done with it (this tool is made by Forlins but we regulary update it)

EE Studio 2 - successor to the infamous EE Studio, (it is a far better program and it does things that EE Studio can't), tools below are integrated in this program

SSTtool - tool for converting SST files to TGA file and in reverse order

SSTviewer - simple tool for viewing SST files directly

SSAtool - tool which extracts and decompresses SSA files

SSTslicer - very useful tool for making background pictures like one in the main menu and other places

We are aiming to release our first version of the mod somewhere next year (I hope on the exact date of the 20th anniversary of Empire Earth) if everything will go as planned.

We certainly do notice

Thin is probably the most amazing achievement in the EE community ever and opens a whole set of new opportunities.

Just one question. Is the number of "new" units still limited to a certain number?

This means so much for me and my team.
Yeah, sadly we can't have tons of new independent units but we can have maybe more than 50 I think. But thing is that it isn't necessary to have tons of new units since with adding a few (40 maybe) of them can really change the game. Also, modifying current units from the game will have an impact too.
We also need to modify that stupid AI which won't do anything unless you start to cheat xD

Hello Bro!!! How are you? Are You Still Alive LOL I want to ask something, how do I make the player win when the player reaches the area that I give flares, yes, I know that just giving flares will not make me win when I reach it, I just don't understand how to set Trigger, Condition, Effect, Area . I hope you or someone reads and helps me, Thanks

Hi Guys!
We found a new project, it is something like a remastered under Unity or Unreal Engine. Someone started it with the Empire Earth I.
There are some gameplay vids on his channel. 😊

It looks so nice!

We already know about that project for long time. It is actually a totally new game, not Empire Earth remaster.

Whilst I understand progress takes time, I have been following the project for a long time and feel it's a long time from release. I know Empire Earth is aging more and more all the while. I sometimes think will we ever see the project release. I hope to see better looking graphical textures (UI, units, buildings), decided on new units/buildings, possibly improve AI scripts, possibly some new RMS, compatability features, the new installer, maybe some support for Scenario Editor to help people create great scenarios.

Bradley, the mod will be surely released one day but let me tell you something...

This isn't just a project which mod-only oriented, on our Discord you can see that we are doing other stuff too like creating new tools for modding, trying to fix game's bugs and other stuff. So our project isn't just centered on making it as mod.

Like I said, we are also making tools because we want others to modify the game in style like they want.

@Philla007 I am really looking forward to it. I was born 1994 and have played Empire Earth with a older brother and friends growing up. I am getting older and older all the time. So I can't wait until the final release. I hope challenging hurdles are overcome along the way. Keep up the work.

This is amazing! I have tried to do something with CEM more than 10 years ago I so wanted some building models that I had one guy do them from scratch for me. I didn't know if the models were even 3D models as their back part could be never seen and it was probably beginning of 3D models.

Keep the work on, I've worked with 3ds max but recently learnt to basically use Blender as this is most accessible program that a lot of modders and makers use, so if you have a CEM plugin for Blender this is huge. I would love to try getting the things I could never see imported outside the game!

Btw the plugin supports v2 CEM, what is v1 and what is v2? I found a CPP script for converting v1 to v2 but I just tried in Blender and the import works!

My question: Is there more to do for the Mesh imports? I am asking because I see the models have some side that looks unfinished like houses with half cylinders etc, it could totally be how the models are made though that part is not the one seen in the game?

V1 are like beta files, and yes the unfinished parts is because of the camera. Im trying to import cem v5 for modding edmw but i don't understand the difference between v2 and v5 and why we can't import them but i had no problems putting v2 building instead of the v5 but the problem comes when i try to change units because of some missing animations or something else the game crashes but i have imported the naval units with some problems that i fixed by changing the udf files. My question is we will ever see a v5 cem importer?

The data.ssa are pretty much the only buildings that exist no? So whether v1 or v2 that looks to be the ones, dont think there are any other 'final versions' that would look more complete, these are complete just the game camera never shows the unfinished part. And never mind the unfinished parts, for me being able to import them something I couldnt 10 years ago is huge, a game changer thanks very much for making it, these are my fave buildings and I wanted to have them and make something nice with them

Yes they are both complete and used in the game. I think the main difference is the code and the script was created, because the V1 files couldn't be converted or imported. the converter and the addon were created for v2. Btw are you making a mod? because if you need help i can help

Hi guys, I just saw your posts

So yeah, member of my team developed lots of tools for Empire Earth and yes, one of them is CEMtool which is addon for Blender. The link of our GitHub page is in my signature. From there you can download CEMtool as well, other tools. Also, join my Discord server for more.

Regarding CEM v5, that version is completely different than CEM v1 and v2 so it cannot be imported in Blender currently.
