Empire Earth – Resources

by Angel Park, One_Dead_Angel

Empire Earth like all RTS games has resources in order to build buildings, train units, research technologies, and repair/fix things in the game. There are five resources in Empire Earth. In addition to the standard resources in many other games, the addition of iron was made. Also unlike most games the Resources Information will be at the bottom instead of the top of the screen. Resources must be dropped at the settlement/capitol although food from farms can be dropped at a granary.

Food: Food is needed in the entire game to supply your civilization’s population. Players can get food by hunting, fishing, farming, and foraging. Farms don’t need to be replanted unless destroyed.

Wood: Wood is the second resource needed. It is required for all buildings, most ships and various other units. Players can get wood by cutting trees down. Forests are represented as dark green areas on the mini-map. Each tree contains 500 units of wood.

Gold: Players can get gold by mining it from the ground. Since players can only put a certain number of people to mine it, one extra gold spot can be very valuable. Gold appears as a gold dot on the mini-map. Each gold mine hold 300,000 units of gold, and allows up to 6 workers to collect gold at one time.

Stone: Stone is ued to create walls, towers, snd other units or buildings. Players can obtain stone by mining it from the ground. It appears as a gray dot on the mini-map. Each stone mine hold 300,000 units of stone, and allows up to 6 workers to collect stone at one time.

Iron: Iron is the fifth resource and most unique one. It is used for creating shock infantry and in later epochs gunpowder units and tanks. It appears as a pink dot on the mini-map. Each iron mine hold 300,000 units of iron, and allows up to 6 workers to collect iron at one time.
