Empire Earth 2 - General Civs Specific Strategies
Part 1
Empire Earth 2 is a game deep with strategic options. If it were only civilizations alone, the game would still be very complex due to the Unique units and Civ bonuses. I will try to give a good impression on how Civs are best used at least in my own opinion.America
American bonuses and Unique Units (from now on called UU) make America a very poor early age Civ.
Having a scout for their first UU means they can’t put up much of a resistance to enemy advances or fight
against enemies very well. Later ages America is a solid fighting force. The Minutemen armies and monster
M18s make America a solid ground force but they also get better aircraft which adds up to an all around
force that will kick the snot out of just about anything.
America’s trade bonus + the western region tech bonuses makes them supreme boomers in team games, add in the nifty regional power of scientific freedom and you now have one of the most powerful Mid game Civs. These tech point boosts get America to the air power ages quickly where America holds all the cards. Rapid deployment in the later ages gets your awesome M18s to the combat uber fast which seals America as a team civ. Rapid deployment won’t get enough units to battle but will get enough units to help a teammate that’s having a bad time.
For America you should look into getting more booming power out of teching, anything that gives resource boosts, tech points, or population room is vital for America to overwhelm enemies in the later Epochs. Research all techs that help increase the unit garrison limit for forts since you will use the forts later to transfer units instantly to anywhere you can see.
Go for the Imperial Crown for the Think Tank bonus and really crank out the Tech points.
If you find yourself with the extra resources than look into building the Brandenburg Gate Wonder to help you get tech boosts from killing enemies. This way you can use your defensive armies to help you boom even harder.
America is one of the last on the list for early ages, but in mid-late ages they are a very strong contender for being a top 3 Civ

Aztec
Aztecs are great in all weather combat. If you are playing games with Weather enabled than Aztecs should be your pick
of the litter (however if weather isn’t on than this bonus is useless). Since Aztec light infantry enjoy a boost to attack
strength and Aztecs have an early age light infantry UU than it makes choosing Aztecs all the easier. They are an
awesome raiding force in poor weather, the powerful Aztec light infantry UU can massacre citizens with very little effort
and flee before they can be caught.
Aztecs are a great civ throughout all the epochs, great early UU means the Aztecs have a powerful way to attack, raid, and defend, an equally powerful mid game Cav UU provides even more raiding options, and the later age Medic UU keeps your forces repaired while in combat.
Meso Civs have a Temple Tech point bonus which really allows booming freedom. You don’t need to use citizens to gather tech points so you have at the very least 3 more citizens gathering than all the other regions. Use temples to gather early tech points to upgrade your infantry. While Aztecs do well in the early game you don’t really want to leave the early ages without really hurting your enemy. Choosing not to raid will hurt you more than an enemy. While Aztecs enjoy an extra 3 citizens to gather due to not having to garrison them in universities it won’t amount to much unless you raid the enemy’s economy.
The Meso Regional power of “Mass Conversion” makes it extremely difficult to attack Meso Civs. Use this to your advantage while raiding. If an enemy comes to attack you while you are raiding lure them into your city limits than apply “Mass Conversion” to steal a fairly decent amount of his units. Also Keep training priests as defenders, set them to Auto Conversion (by right clicking on the conversion power) while you are raiding incase outsiders decide to attack you and stay out of city limits.
A great wonder to look forward too is The Great Pyramid of Tenochtitlan, with it you can boost your priests by giving them a chance at converting near by unit after it successfully converts a unit.
Tech up to improve your priests, light infantry, and Cavalry Unlike America you don’t need to look to the future with Aztecs, you need to focus on killing your enemy as fast as possible.
Aztecs are a fabulous 1 vs. 1 Civ and a decent team Civ. If you are playing a team game make sure if you have Aztecs that your team knows you have to kill an enemy fast or there might be big problems in the later game. Be the raider player while your allies boom. Aztecs are a decent all around Civ, they aren’t perfect but they have enough of an impact to be a heavy hitter under the proper players command.
