Exemplary Achievement at the Front: A Place called Waterloo

I’m delighted to announce a new masterpiece from one of our top scenario designers A Banned User. After over a year’s absence from submitting anything to the EEH downloads he strikes with his new scenario, A Place called Waterloo. This scenario is arguably a project that assures A Banned Users place on the mount Olympus of scenario design.
This extraordinary project is about Napoleon’s final battle and his biggest defeat – The Battle of Waterloo.

A Banned User tells us the following about this decisive battle:
Upon Napoleons escape from his exile in Elba, he quietly returned to France and rallied a dangerous army from his old loyal French supporters. Making a surprise attack against the British at Quatre-Bras and the Prussians at Ligny he forced the two armies to both make tactical retreats. Splitting the allies in two and separating them from each other. The British, running out of time and options, made a stand on a sprawling scenic hill against the French, praying their Prussian allies would arrive in time to help them.

Once again A Banned User perfectly mastered the difficulty of creating a top scenario and he was immediately rewarded with a 4.8 score from abiasforwar. The following are only a few of his comments on this great scenario

The playability for this scenario was superb.
The map was both beautiful and functional, with a basic combination of towns, plains and hills, along with lots of eye-candy.
A lot of extra work was obviously put in the instructions with extra features that I found to be great additions.
So overall this was a great scenario, fun to play, it had epic battles, lots of realism, great detail and a challenging experience.

Exemplary Achievement at the Front: The Wall and the Gun

Today Empire Earth Heaven and I present you a new masterpiece of Empire Earth scenario design. The Wall and the Gun, by Shieldwolf23 is one of the best scenarios recently released and it is definitely among the top scenarios of Empire Earth Heaven.

The project shows the fall of Constantinople in one unique scenario. What makes it so special is that you can choose your side. Either you lead the Ottoman forces to complete victory over the city, or you decide to alter history and hold off the Turkish onslaught, playing on the Byzantines.

But how does Shieldwolf himself describe his scenario?
The fall of Constantinople was a key moment in a 1,500-year-long clash of civilizations. When the impregnable city fell, a remarkable era in world history ended with it - the mark of the end of the Byzantine Empire and the Medieval Era. Thereafter, two worlds would rise - that of the West and that of the Middle East.

Shieldwolf did a great job on this project and his effort was rewarded with a 4.2 score by aLteC teK saying: The playability was good - very good actually. I especially enjoyed moving through the city, and in the countryside - it was a very believable landscape to work with. The map was a good size to make my defences on. Also, all of the class name and attribute edits added to the enjoyability of the scenario.
I am sure this project will soon get even better scores than the current 4.2.

This is exemplary work that should be strived for by all, and players and designers alike are suggested to give this scenario a try.

FileFront Not Going Down
As the title says, FileFront is not going to be terminated. This is great news, as FileFront is the largest download site that requires no registration and has no rate caps. It is often better than even developer's websites for receiving patches and game material. The founders of FileFront announced that the planned termination of FileFront was in no way an April Fool's joke and that neither is it staying up. The full explanation is available here.

FileFront is closing down
Ziff Davis Media, the owner of FileFront and PC Magazine, recently announced that they will be indefinitely suspending its download/upload service at the end of the month due to the current economic conditions. Earlier this year, Ziff Davis sold its 1UP network, which included GameVideos, MyCheats, and GameTab, but not FileFront, and discontinued its Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine for similar reasons.
FileFront Management said:
"We would like to give a warm thank you to all of you who have been part of the FileFront communities we have built together. Your support has had a meaningful impact for all of us here at FileFront. Again, we want to give you a sincere 'thank you' for your support over the years and wish you all the very best"
For the past decade, FileFront has served as a hub for all sorts of game trailers and other video game content, so if you have any interest in downloading any of its +1.5 million files - or if you've uploaded a scenario or mod and no longer have the original copy - you have until March 30th to do so.

R.I.P. FileFront.
