Hosting a Multiplayer Scenarios
---------- by Angel Park
First off, let me tell you what a multiplayer scenario is and is not. A basic scenario is created using Empire Earth's built-in scenario editor. It allows the author to customize the map any way he wishes with triggers, towns, and etc. Multiplayer scenarios allows multiple (meaning more than 1) players to play a scenario together. Different from normal multiplayer games is that, scenarios allow for unique triggers and situations that cannot normally be created. You can be the judge of whether it is better or not.
It is important to know that Sierra, Stainless Steel Studios, and especially EE Heaven doesn't offer any special support for multiplayer scenarios, therefore do not expect any answers from Technical Support on this. This article was simply made to educate fans and to clean up any rumors/wrong facts.

Once you've downloaded a multiplayer scenario (remember not all scenarios are multiplayer) and it is located inside your "Saved Games" folder, its time to start up Empire Earth. First, you must know some rules:
1) Multiplayer scenarios have a set number of players. If the scenario says it supports 6 players, that means you MUST have 6 players, no less no more.
2) The names of scenario players must match those playing. This is why games are done through IP. The scenario itself is actually converted into a saved game, therefore EE requires the same player names which only IP games allow.
Now than, you must fiquare out a way to gather other players (according to the scenario) and host an IP game. Some hosts start multiplayer rooms on the sierra server and than switch to IP after getting enough players and others simply message friends before a game. The only really important thing is that the other players must know the IP address and their proper username according to the scenario. You can load up the multiplayer game by choosing "Saved Game" under game type options and than selecting the scenario. Than long as the other players don't already have it, the scenario will be transferred to the other players. Once everyone is ready, you can go play!
