Eurasia 2017: The Return of Manas
Eurasia 2017: The Return of Manas
||Build and Destroy
This scenario is based on a large real-world contoured elevation map of Eurasia and Africa. Enjoy the spectacular scenery on the "top of the world." My best scenario to date.
Epocs: Modern - Nano
Scenario category: Build and Destroy

The tiny Kyrgyz republic has long been dominated by foreign interests -- those of Russia, China, India, and Iran. Now, following five millenia of oppression and marginalization by foreign powers, the Kyrgyz are ready to fight for independence. Stockpiling of resources, careful planning, rapid military industrialization, and technology transfer have transformed Kyrgyzstan from an agrarian nation into a regional power. Kyrgyz scientists hope that the recent construction of the world-class Kyrgyz Research Center will allow Kyrgyzstan to leapfrog ahead in the technology race.
The Pakistanis are hardly close allies (they spend most of their efforts fighting the Indians and the Russians, but could care little about the Chinese threat), but at least they are not hostile -- something that cannot be said for the rest of your neighbors. Western Europe and Australia are friendly, but distant, and in no position to offer any real aid to your cause.
Alimaz Timurbek, a young Kyrgyz national, has obtained plans for an ultra-powerful combat cyber from an unnamed Western intelligence agency which desires to breatk the power of Russia, China, and India. He has made it to Greenland, but will need your help to return to Kyrgyzstan with the plans for the cyber. No cybers may be constructed until he has returned to the Kyrgyz Research Center
Aisulu Keres, a Kyrygz princess of the ancient royal line, has obtained microchips with the information for classified futuristic technology. Bring her home to the Kyrgyz Research Center from Australia. You will not be able to advance to the nano age until she returns. Both of these technologies -- nano age and cybers -- are necessary to build cybers. Cybers cannot be built in the digital age.
To assist the Kyrgyz in their fight for freedom, Manas -- the hero of the ancient Kyrgyz epics -- has returned to the land.
- Defeat Russia, China, India, Vietnam, Arabia, and North Africa.
- Bring Alimaz Timurbek to the Kyrgyz capitol of Bishkek.
- Bring Aisulu Keres to Bishkek.
- To increase your pop cap, bring the hero Manas to the legendary Springs of Life in southern Africa.
- You can bribe Iran, your ancient trading partners along the Silk Road, to join your side against the Russians and Chinese. To do this, you must tribute them 5000 gold and send a diplomat to Tehran (the Iranian capitol). Be sure to protect your diplomat with armed escort, as the Iranians are hostile at the start of the scenario.
-By sending a diplomat to the Western European capitol, you can receive a one-time grant of iron.
You lose if Bishkek or the Kyrgyz Research Center are destroyed or if Manas is killed.

Playability: A solid challenge with lots of back and forth fighting. Good balancing of forces. I did lose the first time very quickly from my research center getting destroyed. Played again and once I got rolling, Manas became very effective! I used him with an army of 6 howitzer cannons and 4 skywatcher AAs. This was a very powerful combo! Maybe even a little too powerful.
Creativity: This was all done excellent. Small added in things such as bringing a few heros to your capital and diplomacy made things more interesting. Rewarded CIV points were fun to get. Nice cinematic in the beginning with the F-117 flying.
Map Design: Nice large elevation map of nearly the whole world. Some touch ups here and there were very good also.
Story/Inst: Hands down excellent! I really liked the story. Also the instructions tell you exactly what you need to do in detail.
At last this scenario is worth the download and the time playing. Its alot of fun and stays that way until the end.
