Playability: 5
(This was a VERY playable scenario, in which there were no noticeable game-breaking bugs, as benchmarks could be completed in any order without the wrong triggers firing off. There was no noticeable lag either! All factions worked and functioned normally and the player felt engaged and endangered by both the 'Danish Army' and 'National Guard' factions.)
Balance: 4.9
(Again, this may very well be THE, not 'a', but 'THE' MOST 'balanced' scenario this user has ever played on here, insofar as 'fixed-force', or 'semi-fixed-force' scenarios go! Am unsure if one would qualify this as the former or latter because one's force does grow or have the ability to grow with resources being 'air-dropped' to the player, yet no actual 'citizen' units needing to go out and harvest them. Anyways, it's not too hard or too easy, it's as true of a 'Goldy Locks' scenario as this site may have ever seen the glory of! It's JUST RIGHT!
The one tiny 0.1 being taken off is that, IIRC, there doesn't seem to be an anti-aircraft unit able to be produced, yet at least one Talon-fighter-bomber is seen patrolling and attacking the player's eastern cyber factories with impunity! Yet, with no noticeable airfields for the 'Danish Army' faction to make use of, how is that fighter-bomber still flying without crashing? Surely they don't have an infinite fuel source?
The units available to the player to take control of outright, or to produce, are not overpowering until, at least, one specs into them with civilization points, which should be done judiciously, perhaps after every ten acquired and not five. Will say, though, this user didn't need to make use of two of the three Gargantuan sea transports.
IMHO, making a somewhat circular path of liberation, i.e, clockwise, is the way to go for the least awkward playthrough, but feel free to play as one wishes!)
Creativity: 4.5
(No real special units like 'eagle scouts' or hidden 'healing' hot springs to make use of, however, this user, as someone with an anarcho-capitalist-mindset and who keeps growing list of decentralized/'stateless' societies over the years, past and present, this player was VERY pleased to see 'Christiania' park make an appearance in this scenario! The attention to detail was STRIKING, but more on that below.
No real special instructions other than move one's fixed force around and attain followers and defeat the enemy, namely a hidden commander that is not revealed until after enough 'influence' is acquired, in whatever order one one wishes to acquire such influence, however, it was nice to make use of both land-movement and sea-movement and have the ability to choose between 'conversion' and attacking when it comes to enemy units as the player wishes.)
Map Design: 5
(This is one of, if not 'THE', MOST detailed map designs that this user has yet to see on here! A level this would-be producer would like to emulate, at the very least, in the future with a scenario this user has been wanting to make for some time now, and would appreciate any help from the producer of this scenario can give!
Super-sizing certain units to give off a sense of realness compared to other units helps with the immersion (such as some of the ships and landmarks of greater-Copenhagen). Any liberties taken by the producer as far as map design go for the aforementioned 'gameplay purposes' is hidden as far as this player is concerned, and normally this user cares about realistic maps!
The little 'Easter eggs' of seeing 'hobos' in certain areas of that part of Denmark was a funny inclusion, although as one who lists 'Christiania' as an example of a 'stateless' society and being a place this user would love to visit in the future, such as with this user's romantic interest who is part-Danish, it kinda sucked seeing 'hobo' units there, because it kind of comes across as insulting...albeit accurate, this user must admit. But am confident it is and can continue to be more so something MORE than a park for homeless people, and it just needs a little sense of entrepreneurship from visionary young people with money to make that happen! If anything, if 'hobo' units are to be included, then surely fighting-age fake-refugees looking for council-housing after, allegedly, being warded off by colorful bracelets on the wrists of the pretty girls they stalk should be included too, near some makeshift campgrounds/'shantytowns'.
Didn't see where LEGOs were produced, but won't deduct points for that, haha!
No 'dwarves' was disappointing, though.....=)
As a future tourist, yuh gave this user some more points-of-interest to check-out -- aside from the aforementioned park and some bathhouse in Copenhagen not seen in this scenario -- from the Zoo to the Museums to the Opera and this mysterious 'Stone' near the 'airfields' of Copenhagen. Will have to look that up and its story right after submitting this review! Am into the esoteric/'hidden' history/cryptozoology/xenozoology/etc. It was nice seeing where the bridge to Malmö, Sweden is, as this user plans on going through there on their proposed northern-European trip into Sweden.)
Story/Instructions: 4.5
(Minus a couple misspelled words, there were ample instructions given and they were clear and precise and, again, not too many and not too little! More .wav files and maybe another cinematic would've made this more incredible than it already is. Ha....seeing priest/prophet units as students, what with the beards and robes and all made this user smile for some reason, perhaps because they look like hipsters and having them 'convert' enemy units mirrors real life in so many ways! Realistic in having some 'professor' units intermixed throughout. It was actually cool seeing the differences in stats between 'students' and 'professors' in that, students are stronger, but professors are faster, yes? Would've done that differently and had the professors stronger, because they're older and can probably confuse people with logical fallacies to try and win an argument, like in real life, compared to younger students whose knees have less wear-and-tear on them, but that's just this user.
Hearing what clearly sounded like AI-voiceover software was a bit of a let-down early on, as it was noticeable compared to hitjuich's 'Biotech War' in that, in his, the female protagonist unit 'Astrid' almost sounded human and this user had to ask what the name of her voice actress was, whereas the 'male' voiceovers for these units in this scenario were clearly AI and sounded like something English YouTubers use to read reddit posts or what this user played with on Dragon software fifteen years ago, but there's only a few talking scenes so, it's not a big deal anyways for what this was, as-a-whole, at least!
Maybe just a bit more backstory on who this 'General Brian Poulsen' and 'Malte Calsen' character are, and from what university this 'revolution' sprung forth from would be welcome. It's only a personal pet-peeve seeing the word 'democracy' used in such a good light, because it's just par-for-the-course seeing Europeans uphold it like that whereas there are those in portions of 'America' that give it a different definition and see it in a different light. That's not to say this user nor their sphere-of-influence are proponents of some nonsensical 'dIvInE rIgHtS oF kInGs' and tyrannies, as monarchy doesn't work, but then again, none of plaigarist-Plato's three forms of government work, as they all fold into the next, from 'tyranny' to 'oligarchy' to 'democracy', back again into 'tyranny', which is a reason why this user and their sphere-of-influence have so much disdain for it. Also because of basic Christian epistemology stating that 'one CANNOT serve two masters' and self-ownership is given up in the same pathological altruism that author-philosopher AynRand WARNED about, be it to one person, two people, a handful of people, or everyone else being neither here-nor-there! /mini rant)
Additional Comments: Again, this was truly BRILLIANT!
Keep on truckin' as they say as this downloader looks forward to seeing what this 'Eulerz' producer comes up with next!
If anything, this user suggests this 'Eulerz' be PAID for map-making, if he's not already in the game industry, and this user has almost half-a-mind to ask him for a cross-continental map of Canada for their future scenario! Any tips are appreciated as far as that goes. (Spoiler alert: this user's future scenario is set in Canada)
Peace,Luv,andAnarchy!
