This is a map about the siege of Breda. Breda was a fortified city. But with a trick the Dutch conquerd it from the Spanish.
Good Luck

This person made an exceptional senario. It was interesting to look at the map, it was a bit simple, but some how it seemed nearly perfect. The story wasn't the best, but I had fun playing it. It did have some creative strikes. One I thought was clever is when you first started attacking some horses, and that was pretty easy, but i didn't know what hit me! The enemy had surrounded you by coming from behind with arqueubeses. I would reccomend this scenario to anyone looking for a scenario that isn't outragously hard, and has some good terrain.

About the history, I can't change it, because it truly happened! But thanks for the review! |

I'm not going to say this was an excellent scenario, because it wasn't. I've certainly played better. But it is a pretty GOOD scenario. The battles were too straightfoward (just kill kill kill) and if there would've been another objective, then creativity would've hiked to a 4. Very few units were available, and you start out with very few cits (like 5 or 6?) if that would've been expanded playability would've gone up to a 4. Story/inst was a 3 because the instructions were pretty bleak as a result of the creativity. Don't let this discourage you, because though I've played better scens, I've played far more much much worse scens (caulian rebellion, anyone?). Keep making new ones, because this one was fun, if not a little short. |

Story: well down. History background information excellent.
Scenario instruction + Opening movie : OK.
The pavement in the city should be changed. The texture is too loud, you can hardly see the units.
Task of opening gate + release units in swamp is too easy.
Final attack of Spanish isn't too hard either.
I suggest:
1. More defensive spanish troops in Breda. You've build a large city, most of it isn't used in the game.
2. Place some spanish troops around the swamp, so Maurits can't make contact with allies without a fight.
3. Lenghten the final battle by enlarging the Spanish army. Maurits should be forced to retreat in Breda and refresh his army (available resources > used for max. pop., or place an iron ore mine). Maybe you should give the Dutch the opportunity to rebuild the gate, walls and towers.

...I don't get it...
This map is WAYYY too easy. All you do is walk up to the gate, and then send your main forces up to the enemy and waste them..
The enemy doesn't stand a chance either, and since there's only one battle....
I really wish you would've used the whole city, instead of just the gate. May be add flags to different sections of the town that are protected, and you must walk up to each and every one of them (each flag symbolizes different city/fort section) and when you do that, you have to reorganize your party and face the counter attacking spanish. Just an idea. |

Overall I liked it
Playability: Nice. It was seemed a little bland until the end but still was fairly good. For me the end was a nice suprise that took me a little bit to realize what happened.
Creativity: Nothing fancy, no real triggers tricks here but overall a good effort.
Map: Nothing fancy again but it wasn't plain nor to basic.
Story/inst.: Ok I knew what to do at all times, and I knew why i was fighting the battle due to the history(Most scenarios seem to leave this out).
What I really would like to see would be a story within the scenario. Something that would kind of explain the events that happen. For example why did your army need to save the pikeman? Where they attacked?
Again I liked it and look forward to your newest scenario. |

This scenario disappointed me a little. First, it's too easy. Once you capture the city (and it's very easy to do so) all you have to do is to find your enemies and kill them. Since the map is small you don't have any problem to do it. I liked the final battle, fought in a swamp, because the Spanish army tries to flank you (or that's what the chat message says).
It'd have been better if there were more defending troops in Breda, if you could train more units (with your initial army you don't have much pop space to train more) and if the Spanish army were larger.
The map seems simple, but it's pretty good for this campaign's purposes.
