This is fictive WWII scenario build on a platform created by Deado10. Ive made it available for Multiplayer (2 player game) as well. It is my first scenario i have ever published. Ive made it specially for Deado10 and others that say to enjoy teaming up against the computer. I hope you like it.
It is the year 1947. Due to smart politics Germany has accomplished their goal to finally conquer all of the world. You and a small US army are just returning back from a oversea mission. You are the last hope to first reconquer the United States and later the World (or kill The F¼hrer)..
Your heros will have their stats improved the more kills you make. For every 10 kills you gain 120 gold and 120 iron. You cannot create new citizens, but you can demote marine soldiers by selecting them and typing 'demote' in chat.
Warning: This scenario is very difficult. It will become more difficult the more and more you advance. It does require very strategic play. I strongly advice you to read the instructions and hints before you start.
Put the file in your scenarios. |

Sit back and relax, this is one very long scenario. Sundae made a very good work of the map in that the terrain hints and facilitates your advance (pathways, Eastern Australia being empty for an easier landing, etc.). My only objection is that the player should be tasked with retaking rather than destroying all enemy buildings. So I cheated: I entered scenario editor and I added some priests in the initial landing force in order to convert rather than destroy enemy cities. Unfortunately it somehow backfired, since many of the converted buildings changed ownership again at certain key moments of the game. The fact that you units roaster expands only as long as you expand makes this a wonderful long battle where the player needs to plan with a limited selection of units at hand. For example; you got no battleships and subs and you got to deal with some enemy battleships, you got no access to training any AT unit and the enemy rolls out Panzers by the dozen… you got to get inventive! Be warn though, your troops must roll out in seriously great numbers.
Balance: 4
The scenario is not annoying in the way random maps can be, where bionic citizens rebuild quickly after the path of destruction you leave behind, as the enemy has no citizens in this scenario. But the player must constantly be on guard. You should leave a token force in every area you take over, because every now and then the enemy gets a massive instant reinforcement and in some occasions even gets buildings in areas you thought secure. Provided you plan your steps, keep your heroes in the thick of it and watch your rear, no balancing issues should arise. Unless you find yourself without adequate air cover when a swarm of Me-262s with lots of extra attack points appear when you do not expect them. No towers and 88s allowed, built armies!
Creativity: 3.8
The alternate WWII theme is not my personal favourite, but creativity points are due in view of the overall playing experience the scenario provides. Sundae was creative indeed, in creating a very long scenario with enough non-stop heavy action and an assortment of surprises to constantly keep the player on alert. Thumbs up for; the marines getting demoted and the heroes going uber overtime.
Map Design: 4
Very nice massive world map, although it was the Americas that were more effectively carved out. The other continents were not as successful in their layout. Nevertheless, the map was never boring and the paths, cities, mountains, cliffs and forests provided a good tactical environment; two bridges utilized as bottlenecks, many patches of high ground around to arrange defences on, etc.
Story/Instructions: 3
The instructions were minimal, but sufficient. The history was even more minimalistic, but then again we cannot demand too much from a counter-factual background. But what on earth is the point of the red AI player (Russia) anyway? The background story only provides the excuse for an enjoyable battle. In some cases during the game, enemy characters speak in German. And while this may be fitting, I suggest that the dialogues are either bilingual or in English alone so that we may all understand them. @Sundae; your English is passable, but could use some polishing. By all means ask for assistance regarding your texts from a friend, or from a fellow gamer here in EEH. I would like to see hints as to what technologies get unlocked at which steps of the battle.
Additional Comments: The single greatest turn-off in the game was that game speed was fixed at 2.5, probably because of the conversion from an .ees to a .scn file that is mentioned in the comments above. It would be far better if the player could adjust game speed, particularly when a massive enemy army of panzers, bazookas, snipers and planes attacks and micro-management is in order!!! As a result I had to pause a lot when the fighting was at its thickest. Also, after reaching Modern Epoch, all unit upgrades of the new epoch were on, even if the corresponding units were not allowed. Thus, when I upgraded Shermans and B-17s, they were both removed from the unit roaster! |
