Valor Exemplified: Battle of Bataan 1942
On December 7, 1941 Imperial Japanese forces attacked the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor, bombed the U.S. Army’s Far East Air Force at Clark Field in the Philippines, attacked British Hong Kong, and landed troops on the shores of British Malaya, simultaneously. Over the next three months the Japanese Army marched through Southeast Asia, and by March 1942 the Japanese had completely overrun every country and island in the western Pacific --- except the Philippines.
On the Bataan Peninsula of Luzon Island, the Philippine Scouts, a few U.S Army National Guard units, and ten divisions of poorly equipped, almost untrained Philippine Army soldiers waited the Japanese landings. With air superiority and a secure base of supply and reinforcements, the Japanese estimated the Philippines to fall in two to four weeks time.
They were in for a big disappointment.

@scutari: including playtesting the scen, about 3 days. the original file has been corrupted and although i remade this scen from scratch, i know the triggers and stuff in the scen.
@mr.unleash: i have made the scens a couple of months ago, and when i do projects, i tend to do them simultaneously, so that i won't get bored doing one scen only. my work also gives me the time to play. :)
to all: i'll be leaving for saudi tonight so that i can't comment again on my scens for another month or so. hope you'll like the scens i uploaded.
also, visit us at Empire Creations Forums. we'll be happy to accommodate your questions there. |

Seems good :) I might not be very intelligent, or maybe this happened to everyone, but what faction do you play as? I'll try and work it out from the text. |

Hold up. Shieldwolf and Wolfshield?!?! Is it the same person or alter-egos or what? I'm confused. |

Playability: 4.8
The playability of this scenario is excellent on most everything. Shieldy presented the player with limited units, but the ability (dependent on economic condition) to recruit more into the player's arsenel. The player was defending positions from Japanese invaders and was limited to ground troops and two ships (which were incredibly useful on the western side of the map).
Balance: 5
This scenario has near-perfect if not perfect balance. The combined forced of the Philippine forces and the players' along with attribute changes alows the player time and forces to make strategic changes without wasting time. also excellent.
Creativity: 4.9
it is dissapointing that i can not give a 5 on this simply because of the historical nature of the scen. but, a 4.9 is damn good. the unit changes in stats and class names, along with the food rationing and supply lines made for the great experience. this scenario never EVER gets boring or slow.
Map Design: 5
i believed i was in the phillipines. i believed i was defending historical towns and positions from an invading japanese army. the terrain and ambience was spot on.
Story/Instructions: 5
shieldy has become poetic in his storytelling and dialog. he does not lack creativity or boldness in his manipulation of the english langage. hints were superfluous along with history and clear instructions.
Additional Comments:
my friend --- this was the best and most balanced and overall quality scenario you have made! great work! |
