You are Leonidas, King of Sparta. You may have heard of him, he was the Spartan King at Theropylae, possibly the greatest battle in the classical world.
This Scenario is not that battle.
Instead you fight other Greeks, Macedonians, make choices about the fate of the other Greek states and even tangle in the lives of the Greek Gods. It is hopefully just as epic as that famous battle, but with a less predictible result. Hopefully.
Not only will your military skills be needed, but also a logical brain as your mental abilities will be called forth. I recommend that you have paper and a pen handy for this scenario for at a certain point you will have to solve a fiendish(If I say so myself) riddle to continue.
hi there! here's some comments regarding the scen:
- more terrain mixing on cities (they shouldn't be all rock). try overlapping dust and grass, as well as trees between the buildings, for a more realistic feeling.
- the Athenian and Theban army can be lured, thus, it can be destroyed piecemeal. to counter this, you could task-object the whole army to attack the player the moment they are within LOS.
- trigger work on theban and athenian decision. for thebes, before i can decide, they said thank you and allied with me. for the athenians, they attacked my army while the diplomat is saying hi. since this is the case, it was too late when i discovered the path in the woods, while the macedonian army marched and destroyed the agora.
as to the storyline, it is good, although you could improve on the timing, research some background material for the briefing and history section (it wouldn't be nice to say to the players that go and read books about your scen). this will set the mood for the game.
you should try to play your scenarios first, before releasing them here, so that you will be able to see any obvious mistakes in triggers, and feel what players would feel like when they play it.
