Ok...despite the bad previous version, this should work. It is the same description as before. You have two bases: 1 on land and one on an island. Besides the US there are 2 other factions...the vietcong and North vietnam. You may also gather resources if you may need them. If i made this scenario too hard, I left a nuclear bomber at your disposal to even the odds:). If there are any problems or if you like the scenario plz leave a comment. |

As soon as you begin the mission, you have everything at hand to attack the Vietnamese. I have not seen any bugs. However, I thought that destroying their capitol and town center would cause victory. I was wrong. Do you have to destroy every single building? I hope not. I did not even try, there are so many! Also, there is no way you can lose.
Balance: 1.5
This scenario is extremely easy. First, you have two bases and none of them is ever attacked by North Vietnamese or 'Vietcong' forces. You begin with tremendeous resources (hardly modified from the standard scenario template); enough to build a huge army. You can build anything, even units or building that are futuristic or obsolete (example: sopwith triplane, missile base, Erwin Rommel).
Creativity: 2
Like D-Day scenarios, Vietnam suffers from redondance. It was a nice idea to try to bring the 'feeling' of being powerless, but obviously that was not achieved. Units and building should have been renamed to fit circumstances. Also, I can not believe this scenario has NO helicopters! How can you imagine Vietnam without them?
Map Design: 4.7
The feel of jungle is very well 'reproduced'. You have you traved in small groups and can get ambushed very easily. Perhaps using more colours or tiles types could have improved the impression.
Story/Instructions: 2
The story is hardly explained. I do not believe that justifying poor description by 'common knowledge' of this war is acceptable. Hardly any objectives are given and those whose are are imprecise. The only thing that saves this rating from 1 is the good hints that are given; they are precise, concise and useful.
Additional Comments:
This scenario is too easy, too repetitive, too basic and unoriginal. Given a proper story, another context and better finition work, I believe this scenario maker has more chances! I might appear as very severe, but I base my ratings on what I know can be done as I make scenarios myself. I hope my comments will be useful for your next scenarios! Good luck![Edited on 08/02/05 @ 10:59 PM]

This is a big B&D scenario, and plenty of fun. You'll be using land and air units to take out the North Vietnamese resistance, in a thick jungle with lots of surprises. I enjoyed the scenario a lot, but I have to take a point off for the fact that the conquest objective makes the scenario very boring in the later half, and wastes a lot of the players time destroying the remaining buildings, especially those with increased HP. These buildings a also a nuisance when exploring.
Balance: 3
The mission is "hard to win", but winning is inevitable, and losing is near impossible. The over availablility of buildings, in a "full tech tree" style (not sure if that phrase is used in Empire Earth) ruins the balance and realism a little. Although it gives you more freedom, there are already more than enough units available without the extras, and most of them are not realistic (e.g. villagers gathering in Vietnam, temples, missile base).
Creativity: 3.5
The topic and story show little creativity, but the map design shows a lot of individuality, and the gameplay is fairly interesting. I don't understand why you used the default conquest objective though, it's not very creative.
Map Design: 4
The map is thick with ambients and jungle - the forests lack a in variety a bit (I don't think mixing in some spruce would hurt), some of the eye candy is a but unusual/unrealistic, but overall a very big, brave and beautiful map.
Story/Instructions: 3.5
The instructions and presenatation here is adequate and above average, but you haven't really gone into any depth in terms of research, characters etc. Little things like renaming Travis Shackelford, making a .jpg for the map etc would make all the difference.
Overall: 3.6
