Bronze Battles (kalkus 2)

Author File Description

Style: Fixed Force
This scenario takes place in the bronze age, you must help an ally win a decisive battle with your limited number of troops. Even after the battle has been on etheir are still more objectives to complete. I would very much appreciate reviews as they will help me improve my scenario editing abilities. If u enjoy this scenario then try the prequel, Kalkus 1

Ptwost Well this scenerio wasn't bad for you second one.

Playability:
I would ay the playability is the high point of this scenero. The big battle at the beginning was nice and when you have to sav the citizens was a nice mix in also. The bad this was this scenerio was very easy, and shrot, almost impossible to lose.

Creativity:
This was a good, creative scenerio. We havent seen a scenerio about this Kalkus fellow ever before but and some units were renamed which was a good point.

Map Design:
The map was not very good. It is composed of a road, a samll village, and then nothin but grass and resources you dont even need.

Story:
The story was ok, but there wasnt anything differtent about it. There was no movie or scipt-camera. The instructions were pretty good. One thing(I made this mistake) is after the ppening batle, you could go the wrong direction and intead of go to the citizens, you end up attacking the patrol before it was even time. I suggest removing them fro the map until thaey are need.

Tips to Improvement:
The scenerion was not bad really, it was easy and short. I suggst addind in a movi at the begging or end(or anywhere), design the map youself dont have the game generate one for you, make your instructions more precise, use minimap flares to tell the player where to go. And make the scenerio have more objectives so t last longer. Once you've done these and whatever else you want. This will be a great scenerio.(mabey make a Kalkus 3 and turn this into a campaign!)

Thanks for the comments, I never realised you can use flares on the editor. The Kalkus campaign is well under way, I just wanted to stick the first two scenarios up to get them playtested. As it will be a long campaign (17 scenarios) I didn't want to spend a lot of time on designing my own map, i prefered letting the random map generator do it for me. I'll try to get round the attacking the patrol before they're ready bug and i can always incress difficulty by upgrading the enemy's units. Thanks gain for the comments, greatly appreciated. Andy

Goods - It required some strategy to beat, so I guess you can call it a bit tough, although not much. Probably a challenge for a newbie. The storyline is also creative.

Bads - The map design is poor because there's nothing special; just a random map generated with a cracked earth road. There was also only a briefing and hints, no history.

Plot - Kalkas' people advances, but they find that their technology is low compared to those of other civilizations. They plan to conquer these civilizations, but needs help. They'll need to forge an alliance.

Conclusion - More fun, and somewhat recommended.
